This framed cactus flower embroidery was inspired by a trip to the botanical butterfly gardens at RHS Wisley in Woking.
I created a watercolour painting from a photograph I had taken and printed this onto recycled cotton calico, before using a variety of hand embroidery stitches to add texture and pops of colour.
 
This is a unique one off piece which has been framed in an upcycled  watermelon frame to compliment the cactus flowers in the composition.
